FROM ANCIENT MYTH TO PRESENT DAY
Contemporary and ancient Mysteries for Flute and Piano
with Minas Borboudakis
A program with mystical and meditating character, that guides the audience from modern to ancient Greece, is presented by composer/pianist Minas Borboudakis and flutist Natalia Gerakis, two renowned and multidimensional greek musicians, that engrave their route beyond the borders of their country. They meet to confront their origin and identity and to record their own authentic voice by performing:
Works by Minas Borboudakis, where elements of greek and ancient greek music mix with technics of the west european contemporary composing, as well as pieces by European composers inspired from the rich greek Tradition, that certify the intact and continual relation of the european music with the greek world. In addition, fragments of ancient greek music –works by Seakales, Mesomedes οf Crete and an unknown Athenian, freely interpreted– intermediate in order to built up a solid thread that joints and holds the rest compositions.
